Peru just keeps on bringing the hits! This is El Romerillo, a beautiful gesha from farmer Juan Manchay. We enjoy this coffee's ripe cherry and honey flavor, coupled with a lovely florality. This coffee went out to our subscribers first, and now it's available to everyone!
This coffee was fermented first for 48 hours to soften the cherry, after which it was pulped, fermented again for 24 hours, and then washed. The coffee was then dried for 14-21 days, with regular turning.
Juan's farm sits between 1900 and 2100 meters, producing geisha, caturra, bourbon, marshell, and catuaí varieties. This red geisha was harvested in September and landed at the roastery in December.
