This is the green, unroasted version of our Chelbesa Danche.
Chelbesa Danche is practically a household name in specialty coffee, and this lot is about as clean & fruity as it gets. The flavors are layered orange and tart cherry, with even a hint of pineapple, grape, and raspberry. The aromas are rose and powdered sugary blueberries. This is classic, washed Ethiopian coffee.
This coffee is named for the Danche washing station where it's produced. Approximately 800 farmers deliver their coffee cherries to this washing station, each farming 2-3 hectares of land at 2200 meters.
Only ripe cherries were picke, then they were floated to remove defects. Next the coffee was pulped, dry-fermented for 96 hours, and then fully washed. The coffee then dried for 12-14 days on raised beds.
